An oropharyngeal airway (also known as an oral airway or Guedel airway) is a medical device called an airway adjunct used to insert into the mouth and over the tongue to maintain the air passage. It prevents biting of the tongue and obstruction of the respiratory tracts, allows access of the suction catheter.
